Transitional Supported Employment of Minnesota,
In an attempt to provide an integrated work experience for persons with disabilities Tran$Em was developed. We provide a supported employment program to service individuals residing in Clay County, Becker County, Ottertail County and Wilkin County. We also serve North Dakota. It is our goal to place individuals in jobs that pay competitive wage or more.
Tran$Em will arrange for other services as needed, such as job coaching on the site, working with employee/employer to accomplish agreeable accommodations. Job Development activities are also a significant part of the Vocational Counselors job. It is important to be acquainted with employers and be knowledgeable about placement opportunities within the community.
What is Supported Employment,
- Competitive employment is the goal: "community jobs anyone can apply for that pay at least minimum wage, including part-time and full-time jobs"
The mission of Tran$Em,
- Assist in the individual with a disability to enhance their lives throughout competitive employment.
- Encourage the individual to be the best they can be while living with their disability.

Services provided for individuals with disabilities,
- Assist individuals to utilize employment interests, education, experience and skills to allow the individual to make decisions about their career goal.
- Develop an individualized employment strategy to assist the individual in seeking appropriate employment.
- In-house computer training is provided to up grade individual computer skills.
- Post-employment support and encouragement, as need for the individual.
- On-going follow-up with employer.
